Often found in large flocks, dunlin is a small grey colored bird. Can be seen around shorelines in Northern part of America.
Its head and breast are light-colored, and its back is bright reddish-brown.
Dunlin is one of the hardiest of shorebirds, wintering relatively far north. Its migratory behavior is quiet unusual, they wait until late in the season to return from the Arctic, with the earliest arriving in the late September and most coming down in October.
